Extremely compact high-performance electronics set high requirements for the development of the cooling system. Due to the compact design, cooling systems have to be engineered to deal with high cooling loads in very confined spaces. An appropriate approach to solving this problem is offered by two-phase cooling systems, like falling liquid films, impinging jets or evaporating systems. However, due to the complex processes involved, these kinds of systems are difficult to dimension and need to be simulated in detail by proper theoretical models. Therefore, the project’s goal is the investigation and comparison of different solution methods to guarantee the required cooling loads.
