Applied thermal engineering
The research spectrum in energy and process engineering at the Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer includes a wide variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary research projects. Their achievements find expression through several funded projects, as well as through intensive cooperation with private enterprises operating nationally and internationally.
The research field “energy and process engineering” links fundamental with application-oriented research for a wide array of areas, such as for sustainable energy use, process and manufacturing technology as well as air conditioning technology.
For all projects, the common aim is to extend the understanding of energetic transport processes by means of numerical and experimental methods and to apply this knowledge, directly to cooperating projects or indirectly, by an active publication practice.
