Extremely compact high-performance electronics set high requirements for the development of the cooling system. Due to the compact design, cooling systems have to be engineered to deal with high cooling loads in very confined spaces. With the coolant flowing with relative high velocity in the millimeter-sized channel, high shear rates near the channel wall are produced. This could play an important role in heat transfer if suspensions such as the hybrid heat transfer fluid or nanofluid as coolant are applied. This study aims to investigate the effects of high shear on the heat transfer improvements both numerically and experimentally.
