Influence of pressure and velocity gradients during atomization on deformation and viability of mesenchymal stem cells
In context of regenerative medicine different methods could be used for applying of stem cells. Especially a novel approach could make a significant contribution for improved healing of until now remediless diseases: the atomization of cell-solutions (cell-spraying). However, atomization is characterized by high shearing and extensional flows, whose effects on cell viability and cell behavior are hardly understood. Therefore, this project aims at a better understanding of cell behavior during and after spray application.
