Influence of pressure and velocity gradients during atomization on deformation and viability of mesenchymal stem cellsCopyright: WSA
In context of regenerative medicine different methods could be used for applying of stem cells. Especially a novel approach could make a significant contribution for improved healing of until now remediless diseases: the atomization of cell-solutions (cell-spraying). However, atomization is characterized by high shearing and extensional flows, whose effects on cell viability and cell behavior are hardly understood. Therefore, this project aims at a better understanding of cell behavior during and after spray application.
